The
following programs are held at the Woodbridge Branch YMCA at the Woodbridge
Community Center.
Our fitness areas are
the place to be! We offer members many fitness options. Your membership
includes access to such areas as the exercise room, lounge, track
and gymnasium.
Wellness
Center: The Wellness Center is located on the 2nd floor in the community center. The wellness room is designed to accommodate participants of all fitness levels. The room is equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, upright and recumbent bikes, steppers, nu-steps, and an upper body ergometer. There is a new stretching area with resista-balls, medicine balls, cable machine and an abdominal trainer. A professionally trained staff member is on duty during all hours of operation. Prior to your first visit to the wellness center, you will need to schedule an orientation with a staff member. The wellness center is for members ages 13 and up. Children ages 11 and 12 are permitted with parental supervision upon approval by the wellness director.
Strength Training Room: The Strength Training Room is located on the 1st floor of the community center adjacent to the gymnasium. Our exercise room offers a full circuit of nautilus and cybex strength equipment a complete selection of dumbbells, incline, decline, and flat benches, a 3 dimensional smith machine, cable crossover, and much more. Ages 14 and up may use the strength training room. New members are required to have an orientation by staff before using the room.
Track: Our Indoor Track is great for runners and walkers in any type of weather. Ten laps around the track is approximately one mile. Members under the age of 13 must be accompaied by a paren/adult while using the track. For safety reasons, children under the age of 6 are not permitted on the track weekdays after 4:30 PM. Strollers are permitted in the walking lane only.
Gymnasium: Our Gymnasium is equipped with 6 basketball hoops for members and guests to use during open gym times. The gym is also used for fitness classes, youth sports clinics, and special events. The gym is located on the first floor of the community center.
Personal
Training: Need
a personal trainer to help you set up and maintain a regular
exercise program? With
the help of a Certified Trainer, you will learn proper exercise
techniques and develop a program that is safe and appropirate
for meeting your fitness goals. By appointment

Body
Composition Analysis: Body
Composition Analysis can be a valuable tool in weight management. Circumference
measurements can be taken as well as utilizing the Body Logic
Body Fat Analyzer, a bioelectrical impendence machine, to determine
your ratio of body fat to lean body mass. Skin fold measurements
are also available.
The trained staff will give you norms as related toyour age, interpret
your results, and give tips on changing your composition.s |

Instructor led non-impact, 45 minute class. A great indoor cardio experience that give you the feel of riding a bike outdoors. Water bottle and small towel are required for class. * Classes scheduled for 1 hour will include 15 minutes of an abdominal workout.

in Motion

A mix of dance steps and interpretive movement designed to work your overall body. There will also be an introduction to step included in this class. Be prepared to have fun!

- Cardio Kick
- Add intensity and excitement to your cardiovascular workout. Utilizing boxing techniques, this interval fitness class will challenge all participants.

- Pilates (Beginner and Advanced Classes)

Learn the system of exercise that works the core! This class helps you become acquainted with your body and breathing. You will learn to keep your body in correct alignment and to use your abdominals throughout class. Strengthen your body and create a long lean look. Bring a mat or large bath towel. Advanced Pilates is a class for those who have at least 9 months to 1 year Pilates experience attending a class.

Combines high-energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that all the Zumba participants to dance away their worries. Add some spice and flare to your workout and shake your cha-cha! This latin based group exercise class is fund and easy to do. No dance experience required.

A fitness program for the active older adult, beginner participant and others that may need special modifications. This fun Latin inspired dance program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco, Tango, and Rock and Roll. The program was created to provide a safe and effective total body workout in a party like atmosphere.

- Aqua Challenge

This is the ultimate fast paced exercise class in our pool. It is a 45 minute class to music that includes warm-up, aqua jogging, cardio, strength training and cool down.

This is a program that offers flexibility, endurance, posture improvement, and coordination. This class will use a wide variety of fitness equipment including stability balls, light weights, dyna-bands, gliding discs and more!

- Invigorating step aerobics class with cardio, strength training, and abdominal components included.

The goal of yoga is to have a peaceful, clear mind in a sound body. The goal is approached through the use of body postures, breathing techniques, and a technique for deep relaxation.
