YMCA Outdoor Pools

The Woodbridge Branch YMCA manages and operates two outdoor pools every summer, Highland Grove Pool in Fords and Bowtie Pool in Port Reading. They offer a place for families and individuals to gather, socialize, and enjoy the cool, refreshing water. The outdoor pools are open for all area residents, whether a YMCA Member or a Non-Member. Both pools are open weekends from June 2 and weekdays from June 18 through Labor Day.  Also, new this year, memberships for either pool, Bowtie or Highland Grove, will be honored at both outdoor pools with the presentation of membership card and ID.

Facilities
The Woodbridge Township Community Pool (known as Bowtie Pool) is located in Port Reading. It is easily accessible from all sections of Woodbridge Township and surrounding communities. Turn onto Port Reading Road, next to Barron Arts Center. Continue approximately 1.2 miles on Port Reading Road, crossing over the turnpike bridge. Turn left, across from the Port Reading Fire Department, before crossing the second bridge. Pool complex is on the left side.

The facility consists of a 25 yard pool, including a slide, and a 3 foot shallow section. A kiddy pool is also available for youngsters. Locker rooms, a picnic area, a playground, and plenty of room to just lounge make the facility perfect for family members and residents of all ages and interests.

Dates and Hours of Operation
The Woodbridge Branch YMCA Pool will open for members on weekends on June 2 and will operate weekdays beginning June 18 from 12 noon until 8 pm, and weekends from 11 am until 8 pm, through Labor Day. In addition to summer pool memberships, swim lessons and summer camp will be available on a scheduled basis for pool members and area residents. The YMCA reserves the right to change the pool schedule without notice.

Staff
The staff is carefully selected by the YMCA on the basis of skill, experience, and understanding of YMCA philosophy. The staff will possess certifications in CPR and first aid as well as appropriate YMCA and/or Red Cross lifeguard/swimming certifications.

Activities
In addition to plenty of opportunities for self-directed recreation, enrichment activities will be available for pool members. Activities will include but not be limited to water exercises, crafts, sports, etc.
