YMCA Day Camp
Woodbridge Branch YMCA, Bowtie Pool Day Camp

Registration for Summer 2008 will begin in mid January 2008.

YMCA day camping offers a world of fun all over our area. Every summer, kids enjoy exciting, educational adventures in traditional YMCA camp activities

Day camp for ages 6 through 12    10 weeks to choose from
June 25 - August 31    Fully trained, professional staff
9AM - 4PM with extended care
Activities include swimming, games, crafts, sports, nature activities, special events, and trips

The philosophy of YMCA day camping is to help each child develop to his/her full potential. We care about all aspects of your child’s development and our programs are designed to challenge and stimulate your child’s physical, mental, and social development.

Camp will be held at the Bowtie Pool, located on Port Reading Avenue, in Port Reading, NJ. Facilities include a newly renovated, in-ground swimming pool with a large water-slide, playground, outdoor fields and picnic areas

Robin Goodrich, Bowtie Pool Manager and Director of the Woodbridge Child Care Center in Avenel, will direct the day camp program. Robin is a full-time YMCA professional with over 6 years of experience. Counselors are primarily college students over 18 years of age. All are carefully selected on the basis of skill, experience and understanding of the YMCA philosophy. Counselors are trained according to YMCA and state health department standards.

The health and safety of each child is our prime concern. A staff member trained in CPR and first aid will be present at all times. As required by the Health Department of the State of New Jersey, each child must have a notarized health form on file. In case of severe accident or illness, the injured child will be transported to JFK Medical Center.

The Woodbridge Branch YMCA recognizes the need to serve all members of the community regardless of the ability to pay full costs for programs and memberships. To apply for financial assistance, contact the Woodbridge Branch YMCA for an application. Financial assistance is limited and requests should be made at the earliest possible date.

Activities are geared to the age and development
level of each child and will include:

  • Trips
  • Soccer, Softball
