Sneakers Fitness Program

The Silver
Sneakers Fitness Program is the nation's leading exercise program
designed exclusively for older adults. Members receive a senior
membership at NO COST. The program is typically
offered to Medicare-eligible members of a sponsoring health plan.
Please check with the front desk to see if you are eligible for
this free membership. All senior members are welcome to take
the classes for FREE!
Silver
Sneakers I - Muscular Strength
and Range of Movement
Have
fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed
to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for
daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with
handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used
for seated and/or standing support.
Silver
Sneakers II - Cardio Circuit
Combine
fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance
power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength
work with hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a
ball is alternated with no-impact aerobic choreography. A
chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
SeniorSplash
(water exercise for seniors)
This
water exercise program is developed especially for seniors.
SeniorSplash is set to music but is not as fast paced as Aqua Challenge.
Class participants have the benefit of both the support and resistance
of water. Come join the fun as we move to the beat!
No swimming skills are necessary. Program is low impact.

Thes programs are made possible with the cooperation of the Woodbridge Township Department of Parks and Recreation. Pre-registration is rquired for participation in all programs. Wii Games (11 am - 1 pm)
Challenge fellow Wii enthusiasts to a game of horseshoes, shuffleboard, trivia or darts. If billiards, table tennis, or duck hunt is more your style then the new Wii Play disc is for you. Of course bowling, tennis, baseball, and golf are still available too!

Brown Bag Movie (11 am to 1:30 pm)
Pack your lunch and a beverage and join us for a matinee! Check with the front desk or the monthly "Senior Scene" newsletter for the movies of the month. Pre-registration is a must.
Wednesdays
Knitting Ministries Group (9:30 am - 11am)
Join with fellow knitters and crocheters to share patterns and conversation! We also knit for community and charitable organizations in Woodbridge and around the nation to help those who need comfort during trying times.
Jewelry Making and Crafts Group
(11 am - 1 pm)
In this informal setting you will join with other crafters to create beautiful pieces of jewelry and scrap book albums. This fall we will be embarking on some new beading techniques and projects. Bring your special beads, photos, and other mementos and spend a couple of hours creating!

Stepping Out with Paula Every Thursday (11:30 am - 12:15 pm)
From the Grapevine to the Box Step, Paula will teach you dance moves and work on dancing routines that will keep you on your toes! Our dancers also perform at many YMCA and township events throughout the year.

Scrabble Club Every Friday (11 am to 1 pm)
Did you know that people who work crossword puzzles and play word games like Scrabble are helping to keep their minds sharp and alert? Come as a foursome or come on your own and join in a game or two.
