YMCA Older Adults

Senior Man ExercisingThe Metuchen-Edison-Woodbridge YMCA has developed exciting programs for adults who are 55 and older. Our Active Older Adult Program is designed in keeping with the YMCA's "Spirit, Mind and Body" mission.

The Active Older Adult program aims to help people in this age group - often overlooked in today's glitzy health club scene - maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and a positive outlook on life.

At the program's core are group exercise classes and programs that help improve one's muscular strength and endurance, balance and flexibility. For those who need it, low-impact exercise is complemented by water exercise. Also included are lectures, trips, social gatherings and nutrition classes.

All programs and classes are conducted by certified fitness professionals who are educated and trained. YMCA staff can be counted on for instruction, motivation and to make your visit to the YMCA fun.
