Mark your calendars with the following dates for
extra
meets & events:
Note: information will be placed
in swimmer's mailboxes a few weeks prior to each event. Mailings will be
selective to those who are eligible or have qualifying times for Outside Meets*
(see below for an explanation). Check the board regularly at the "Y",
or Wardlaw for meet announcements. If you believe that you are
qualified, and have not received information once the meet has been
posted, then look for extra copies on top of the mailboxes at the "Y",
or in the 1st mail slot at Wardlaw. Or, ask a coach for the
information. Please do not take mail from mailboxes other than yours. This
causes our mail system to breakdown. Ultimately, it is your responsibility
to make sure you get the information, and return it by the due date specified on
the entry form. No late entries will be accepted. Thank you
for your cooperation in advance.

*Team Policy on Outside Meets:
As we start another swim season, the coaching staff would like to clear up
some of the confusion concerning outside meets.
All swimmers are expected to attend all of their team dual meets. Dual
meets are swim meets against other YMCA teams. Your child's dual meet team
(we have 4) may also have a Division Championship.
Outside Meets are meets other than dual meets. These meets are
optional. They may run for 4 or more hours (as opposed to dual meets,
which run for about 2) with many teams in attendance. It is not
necessary for your child to attend these meets, but they are available to you if
you wish to attend. Our team is "dual meet" based. We
don't want the younger and new swimmer's/parents to become frustrated by
attending long and tiring outside meets. Our returning and senior swimmers
will not benefit from a constant break in training to attend outside meets every
Sunday.
These Outside Meets may be YMCA invitational, USS (United States
Swimming) or Mini Meets:
. YMCA Invitational - open to all
members of the YMCA swim team. Some may have a qualifying time.
All of these meets have an entry fee (usually, $3 to $4 per event).
. USS Invitational - Our
team is registered with New Jersey Swimming. However, swimmers interested in swimming
these meets must sign up with USS. We will be doing this sometime in late September/early
October for those who have qualifying times or are near qualified. If you are interested, ask a
coach for more information around that time. (there is a $30.00 annual registration fee).
USS meets that require this registration, are so noted above.
. Mini Meets -
Available to all 8 and Under Swimmers and some meets include 9 and Unders. No qualifying times are
necessary. All of these meets have an entry fee of usually $2 to $3 per event.
