School Age Child Care
Good Fun, in good hands! YMCA's collectively are one of the nation's larget providers of school age child care. Our quality, full service child care program for grades K-7 runs from September through June with availability from 7AM to 6:30PM. Our program features swimming, sports, fitness activities, homework time, arts n' crafts, games, movies, healthy snacks and a quick and easy dismissal procedure for our parents, 'from our door to your car door' from 5-6:15PM. Transportation is provided by our YMCA buses which are state inspected and equipped with seat belts and bus aide.We also pick up children for half-days and early dismissals.
TheMetuchen YMCA After School Care programs runs from September through June. Children are transported to the YMCA where our program features swimming, homework time, snacks, arts&crafts, games, movies, cooking, knitting, and more. Children are cared for in a friendly, safe and well–rounded environment. We offer a morning child care program for Metuchen public school children from 7AM until the start of school, transportation is provided. Fee:$117 per month for morning care program Fee for the after school care program is: Plan A- Care is provided only for scheduled school days, half days and early closing $287 Plan B-Care is provided only for scheduled school days, half days, holiday programs $317 We currently serve the following schools in Metuchen: Campbell Moss Edgar St.Francis Three, four and five day care available We currently serve the following schools in Edison: Benjamin Franklin Lincoln James Monroe Five day care available only * Note: There a a four child minimum per school We serve these schools( PlanA). Children enrolled in our full program (PlanB) are covered for snow days and holidays in addition to regularly scheduled school days. Click here for registration forms:
Coming Fall 2008
New Jersey Healthy U program is based on the Coordinated Approach To Child Health ( CATCH) curriculum that was developed by the University of Texas Science Center Houston School of Public Health. The CATCH curriculum is a national, award0winning program with over 15 years of research documenting the program's success in reducing the rate of childhood obesity.
Lights Out Afterschool October 15, 2008
Lights On Afterschool! is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. Lights On Afterschool! is a project of the Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all children have access to afterschool programs by 2010. Afterschool programs keep children safe, help working families and improve academic achievement. NJSACC has secured a Proclamation from Governor Jon Corzine for Lights On Afterschool Day!
