The MEY swim team open to boys and girls ages 6-18 years of age competes in the NJ YMCA Swim League with several dual meet teams as well as in the US Swimming meets throughout the East Coast Region. We field one boys, one girls and one co-ed team in various divisions. Team members are organized into eight training groups based on an evaluation of individual ability by our experienced coaching staff. The MEY Swim Team is a full year program broken into three sessions. Fall/Winter, Spring and Summer. The season begins in September with evaluations and practice group assignments. Our focus is on developing stroke technique, discipline, and team spirit. As members of the " Manta Ray Team" our swimmers establish lasting friendships, develop self-esteem, and a sense of responsibility through goal setting.
Interested in swimming for those adults over 18? Try the Manta Ray Masters. Metuchen Branch YMCA Manta Ray Master's Swimming is for adults (novice to advanced) that are looking for new challenges in a coached environment. If you are a regular lap swimmer that has a hard time staying motivated, or you are just looking for improved technique, speed, and endurance then Master's may be for you. The Metuchen Branch YMCA Manta Ray Masters program ranges from all levels and abilities of the adult lap swimmer. Masters is perfect training for that triathlon, or just for increased health. Practice is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:15pm-9:30pm (subject to change). You must be a member of the Metuchen YMCA to participate in the program. Please contact Kristine Sinram at 732-548-2044, ext 212 for more information. Swimming
