When you take a swim lesson at the YMCA, you come away with more than the ability to swim. You come away with how Character Development, water safety, and fun are all part of your water experience. Edison Branch members can begin to learn to swim at any age. Classes are formatted to meet the needs of the participants, and will help in developing a love of swimming. Preschool
Progressive Lessons (ages 3 - 5) Designed for children 3 - 5 years. Classes are based on the YMCA Skipper Program. Floatation devices are used as teaching aids. Grouping by ability as listed below. Class ratio is 1 instructor for every 6 swimmers.
Youth
Swim Lessons (ages 6 - 12) Each skill level builds upon the preceding level, with seven levels covering all the strokes, start and turn fundamentals, and safety skills.
Teen
and Adult Swim Lessons For teens and adults needing the very basics, or improvement of stroke techniques, these classes will fit the needs of any teen or adult.
