Ken Shirk Child Care Center
Ken
Shirk Childcare Center is on Old Post Road in Edison. The Center
has been open for 16 years, serving children ages 6 weeks - 5 yrs and
a summer camp program for children 5-11 years of age. The childcare center
can accomodate up to 60 children. We provide 2 healthy snacks
a day and a curriculum that is age appropriate, interesting as well as
challenging.
We are proud to be building strong kids, strong families
and strong communities in a diverse and inclusive atmosphere of learning
through play.
Programs:
Our programs are for Infants (ages
6 weeks to about 13 months), Toddlers (13 months to 3 yearrs), Preschool
(age 3 to 4 years) and Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4 to 5 years). These
programs are located in 4 separate classrooms.
Activities:
Swimming lessons are provided once a week for those
children who are 3 (potty trained) and 4-5 yrs old. Ken Shirk children
enjoy walking trips as well as bussed trips that are appropriate. We
encourage invited guests from the community to enhance our curriculum.
Parents are always invited to join in a class and share their talents.
The summer day camp program enjoys weekly trips, swimming at the Elks
Pool and an array of fun filled activities in our spacious back field.
Director:
Corene Badishan is the current director and has over 20 years of experience
in the education field.
